Our regular volunteers know that we could never put on the Locust Quilt and Craft Show WinterFest without them.  Volunteers are an important part of Locust Quilt and Craft WinterFest. They are the “thread” that binds us together!  Your help is truly appreciated once a week, once a month, or once a year. Why should you volunteer?

o You are needed.
o You love handcrafted art through quilting, needlework, beading or crafting.
o You want to promote the art of quilting, needlework, beading and crafting through great exhibitions, classes.
o You want to continue the art of quilting, needlework, beading and crafting, and tell stories of the art of hand crafting.
o You want to give back to the community while doing something you love.
Youth, seniors and people every age in-between, serve as volunteers in our community. Some volunteer one day a year, while others volunteer every day of the year. Locust Quilt and Craft has multiple volunteer positions to choose from. There are many opportunities and training is provided.  Below are just some of the opportunities available.

Pre-Festival Planning
•   Publicity
•   Accommodations
•   Logistics
•   Entertainment
Press and Marketing
•   Assists with the preparation and mailing of press releases.There is long lead time, 6 week lead time, and 2 week faxes about the show opening and exhibits.
•   Press Releases are sent to various media outlets.
•   Mounts articles in our PR book
Quilt Contest Support
•   Help to care for the quilting competition,    quilt collection and distribution.
•   Assists in installing quilt exhibitions
•   Work closely with the quilting manager and judges on a variety of tasks.
•   White glove attendants and quilt demos, are just a few of the areas where volunteers are needed.
